My recent trip to Australia buffalo culling with my .500/.416NE (.416 Rigby flanged equivalent) double rifle has given me new gun purchasing ideas!

The cost of my trip is continuing as I now feel that I must add a .416 bolt gun to the collection, yep it's like a disease, we must have more! For travel reasons and barrel swap reasons, I'm continuing down the Blaser R8 rabbit hole and a new Blaser .416 Rem is on order. I had to remain practical and pass up on my first choice of a wonderful Rigby rifle in .416 Rigby caliber, they are just too classic and too nice, not so easy to break down for travel, so another Blaser R8 it is with the green stock.

I'd like to reach out and ask other members here what they are using for their favorite .416 Rem reloads, I'm looking to use mainly 400 grain bullets (Barnes TSX, Swift A frame and Hornady DGX Bonded) and achieve muzzle velocities in the 2,350-2,400 fps range.

What powder and loads have you found work well for you in your .416 Rem rifle? Thanks for sharing.

where are you located? I would be happy to help you with you doing the reloading but I will only load for a very few real close friends as posted before liability is the problem. but will help you.

Just received your book. It will be a Christmas present from my wife. Looking forward to read it.
