Some middle-aged Model 70s. Top to bottom: 338, 300H&H,30-06, 270, 257.

Now what else can I do before I get to go outside and play?

You just took them for a walk around the house?

How about you take them to the range and run 3 round through each and see which one is most accurate? I’m going to guess the .270.

do you have a preference of the 5?

The governor had the range closed until a couple days ago but even with it "open" now there are a bunch of new restrictions and limitations such as a 30 minute time limit and two rifle maximum, so I'll wait a little longer and hope that the situation gets back to normal in the near future.

I keep trying to decide if I have a favorite. The 338 has seen the most use, including some moose hunts to Alberta and having a horse roll over it (thus the epoxied stock) and it has been the rifle that I use when not limited to "spike" elk, but the 257 has a lot going for it. I haven't gone deer hunting for a few years- maybe I'll go back up the hill and renew the friendship.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
