Looking for walk and stalk plains game hunt

I am looking for recommendations for an ethical operator for fair chase walk and stalk plains game hunting. I am completely open minded about the species I hunt, but I would like to hunt native species endemic in the area with minimal use of vehicles, ideally not in a farmed or high fenced area. I am happy for something physically challenging and I am not really interested in hunting over waterholes or from blinds or vehicles. To be clear, I am not judging those who do, it just isn't what i am looking for.

I am happy with very basic accommodation and a spike camp would suit me fine. Something like Kai Uwe-Denker or Natasha Illum Berg write about.

I am not interested in big numbers or unusual trophies, more the experience of being in the bush. I would be very happy with a well earnt kudu or an eland in a week The wilderness areas of Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe or Mozambique would be great, but I am on tight budget.

Have look at some of the Namibia outfits. Very good, resonably priced operations with large open areas

Economic doesn’t work very well for low fence, high quality hunts at a low price.
Sure you may be happy with one nice kudo in a week, but the outfitter, ph and staff need to make a living. So, that will put you in the high daily fee, low trophy fee area.

How tight of budget are you talking about?

As mentioned Namibia may be your best bet.

I would have to agree with a central Namibia hunt.

Me and @Mekaniks both hunted together at @KHOMAS HIGHLAND HUNTING SAFARIS in 2023

I went in May of this year again and would push over 15-20 miles a day. If you ask to not hunt much from the truck they will walk you until you beg to call for the truck haha.

If you stick to Oryx and Hartmanns Zebra and Kudu in that part of Namibia it will be all lowfence and free range. Maybe not the full plains game bag that say East Cape hunt in SA can offer.

But hunting Oryx and Hartmans zebra in the mountains is very very sporty.

I hunted with my wife, and she wasn't into walking 20 miles a day, so we found game from a Land Cruiser, and got out and started stalking.

Check out Kowas Safaris in Namibia. Huge areas. Jacques is adamant about not shooting off the truck. You will walk your stalks for sure. We had some stalks that were probably 1000 yards for sure and I am sure you could lengthen that if you want. As others have said, Namibia with relatively large areas, even on farms, is probably going to be your best bet budget wise imo.
