Krieghoff SxS 16 gauge action lever question

I have this Krieghoff 16 gauge posted for sale or trade in the classifieds.
Can any one identify the material the lever is made of. I have no idea. And It appears to be horn.

Pretty common for German guns with horn trigger guards and other parts that are manipulated by hand. The horn does not freeze to the hands in cold weather.

It looks so. 99% positive. I do find it a bit odd that the trigger guard is not also horn.
