When I go to youtube after clicking on the link I am taken to a hippo hunt.

I got it to work and saw the charge. Am I missing something...the PH said it was only 30 pounds, and they are in Botswana for crying out loud and instead of immediately backing off they just stood there when the wind swirled and had to end up shooting it...am I missing something?

If i had to guess.
Client lost elephant.
So ph stood there to see if they could f around and find out?

For what it is worth, in my very limited experience, I think he was just getting the client use to being around elephants, talking about shot placement, the wind and what not.

To your point he could have backed out and avoided the situation but being that close to one is the kind of moment that we live for, even when the elephant stepped forward I didnt think he was going to charge. Just never know an animals temperament.

So...
Have somebody of u known were ele has been touched by the ph 's rifle bullet??

Unlikely, I’ve hunted elephant with Allan and he’s a professional. He was very focused on safety in all aspects of our hunt. I highly doubt that he was participating in any activities other PHs would consider unusual or particularly risky.

Ah...that makes sense...you are saying he is just getting client used to being close to elephants and the wind swirled on him and then got the unexpected charge...it happens.

I think its interesting to listen to the hunters retrospective about what he felt about hunting elephant afterwards (that it wasn't something he felt mattered). Curious if others who have gone after dangerous game have felt that way after a charge?

You don't do something like that near an elephant you don't intend to shoot. You back away as quickly as possible.

That should not happen!

You have to get out of there as fast as possible before something like that happens.

I took it as i dont think its the one you just shot but looks alot like it wink wink lets get closer to find out........ o shit....... oops congrats you got "your" elephant from earlier.....
The park ranger interaction struck me on the wink wink conversation side. But i coukd just have a warped perspective based on life experiences. Not everytbings shades of gray

I hunted elephant in Botswana with Allen and he is fearless and very professional, a pleasure and an honor to hunt with him.
