Engraver Recommendation

Seeking a recommendation on a skilled engraver to rework the initials on this trigger guard. Fits on a model 70 that I acquired a couple years back from a fellow member here. I sent the stock to RJ Renner last week for his African treatment and would like to find someone that can hand engrave this for me to march the quality of the existing.

Trigger guards are relatively thin, gold inlay has to be beveled in. That may not leave much thickness if the initials are ground off. Might almost be better to have an engraver start over with a replacement trigger guard. But...anything can be done for a price, even putting back some metal, then replacing with new gold lettering and reblueing.
There is a gentleman gunmaker in East Texas that not only builds guns, but does quality engraving. RedLeg had him build a Kipplauf rifle for him. Name escapes me at the moment. Someone will soon remind us.
If there is enough metal, the initials could occupy a new inset cameo, which would be easiest.

No, Red Leg will have to chime in. His single shot, break action gun was made by the gentleman in question. It takes both me AND my wife to remember anything these days....

Buy a replacement trigger guard, send both to any number of GOOD engravers and let them do their thing. They can do smoke pulls and match the engraving style of the old trigger guard. I can recommend either Roger Kehr or Jessie Kaufman, both have done outstanding and very timely work for me.

Jessie Kaufman does alot of the engraving for Parkwest arms. He does fantastic work, i would give him a call.

Appreciate all the advice! It seems starting with a fresh guard and having it engraved is going to be the more economical route.
