Looking at early Ed Plummer AHR cz 550 in 505 Gibbs. How are these compared to the current crop of AHR rifles. I just want some opinions of the early rifles.

Ed's known / was known for doing a lot of modifications to the CZ 550 designs. I've seen an early . 375 H & H ( circa 2004 ) that Ed had worked on. It was dastardly accurate . It shot MOA all the way out to 100 -120 Yards.
Met the guy many years ago . Had a chat about rifle actions in general. I remember we talked about the Enfield action and. He mentioned that some Eddystone actions were prone to being brittle.
You should totally snag that gun . Good find. I suspect it will be very accurate and balanced.

Most of my hunts are solo — just me, my rifle, and a good map. Sometimes I tag along with an old buddy for a week in Zimbabwe or South Africa, but more often than not, it’s just me.
Big fan of classic hunting — bolt-action rifles, old-school tracking, and taking the time to really be in the moment.
Just did a podcast, check it out if interested!
