Buffalo Bush Camp - Our main hunting camp​

A few scents are as scintillating as the smell of a hardwood campfire, when arriving back at camp after sunset, rounding off a great day's hunt.

Our bush camp is nestled among Hardwood trees like Leadwood and Maroela. Leaving a feeling of nostalgia in your heart. The camp is near a town called Thabazimbi, which means "Mountain of Iron", approximately three hours from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

Johan van Wyk

The company is run by outfitter and professional hunter, Johan van Wyk, who grew up in the bushveld of Limpopo. Johan is an avid hunter who specializes in dangerous game and plains game, and possesses great bushcraft and hunting skills.

I’ve hunted with Johan twice and have had a great experience both times. I enjoyed the family atmosphere and Johan and family are great people. Love the tent camp, I much prefer that to living in what looks like a hotel room some places have. Hot water from a donkey… what could be better?
The food and hospitality are amazing, it’s the Limpopo so there is no shortage of game, and I’ve never had a bad minute in tent camp. If you are looking for a place to hunt in RSA, give Johan a yell.
