Up for sale is a gorgeous Browning Safari .243. Gun is in near perfect condition, with only a couple small marks on the stock. It has the classic "Pencil" barrel, iron sights, and Leupold bases and rings. Scope not included. Wood is one of the nicest I have ever seen on a standard Safari rifle.

$1850.00 shipped.

Wow, that is an absolutely stunning example of these fine rifles! I have a pretty decent example of one of these Safari Grades with the Browning-specific Sako L579-based action in 243 Win from 1965, but the wood on mine isn't anywhere close to as highly-figured as this one! Looks like yours was made in 1966 based on the serial number (and I believe was the last year of the diamond in the forearm checkering). As you said, that is well above what you normally see on a Safari Grade. GLWS!

Might just be the best piece of wood I've seen on a Safari, that combined with that Sako action, this is one fine rifle!

I agree, killing me to sell it, but it is part of the sell off unfortunately.. I don't think I every seen a safari with this wood. This is more like Olympian wood and then some.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
