I have a great case.... but as I get older the weight gets heavier.

It is an aluminum case on wheels.

Does anyone habe any recommendations for a lightweight international travel rifle case?

I am searching for very durable and tough, yet perhaps a bit lighter weight.

God Bless,

Dale

In for the replies

For light weight, the Pelican Vault series is pretty good... but you are giving up some of the durability and strength of the other pelican lines..

Lots of AH guys really like Tuffpak Sport Cases.. theyre not super heavy and have wheels.. I had one for a while and just found that I preferred my pelican storm and my pelican vault.. but.. honestly theres nothing wrong with tuffpak at all.. theyre great cases.. I just personally preferred the pelicans..

I'm still using my 20 something year old Tuffpak and don't have any complaints.

I have used an SKB 5009 for 20 years now, used at least once annually, sometimes twice a year. I took it to Africa for the first time last year, but fly frequently domestically to hunt being I live in Alaska. It has been a great case. It is scarred and scratched externally from lots of rough handling, but hasnt failed to protect contents and is still structurally sound. Also airtag type trackers work well in it, not sure if they work inside aluminum cases.

I have been using Pelican cases for the last number of years. I also have Tuffpak, but had issues with TSA just throwing soft cases back in without paying attention to security inside the case.

I love my Tuffpak and don't know that I would switch to another case unless I was only taking 1 rifle and or a take down rifle.

Picked mine up @EuroOptic store. Cheaper than this advertised price. It’s replacing my 20+ yo pelican.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
