101 (or more) Things to Know Before Hunting Africa

Maybe someone mentioned it and I didn’t see it. Contracting someone for pre-approved gun permits. I fly in to OR Tambo and have a gentleman named Mr. X (not secret code) do our pre-approved permits. Super easy to do and $130 per permit which is steep but I love the ease. I also contract him for VIP meet and greet. $150 for the group, they meet you at the plane door, walk you through passport control (open another line for your group) walk past customs, then straight to meet Mr X in the meeting area. You will spend about 5 minutes per person in the SAPS office then out the door. I have done the trip several different ways and Mr. X is the way to go! Super fast and super easy!

Yes the pre approved rifle permits, from Aftons, Africa Sky or Rifle Permits is money well spent.

Another tip. If you hunting dangerous game learn to sight down your barrel / point shoot if you have optics, it can get gamey when the critter is up close trying to make you have a bad day.

Well spent $ on your trip. I would not go without Mr. X or others who do the same job.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
