I compared my 450 Rigby round to his 550 Magnum in April. That thing is a beast, but I don’t imagine it’s too fun to shoot or carry through the bush when hunting buff either.

As has been said many times, KZN is great for Nyala. I would without a doubt recommend Leeukop Safaris. I’ve hunted there multiple times for the last few years. Huge expanses of land with great scenery. Some of the biggest Nyala in the world come out of there and is a place I would guarantee you...

Some lovely bulls posted above. Congrats everyone. It always amazes me how unique Nyala can be. The bell, the sweep, the wide or narrowness, the worn down or broken horns. It all adds to the special nature of a hunt or ‘trophy’.

Did you get the opportunity to hunt with it? Why did you sell? Glad you did or do you miss it? I haven’t had the opportunity to fire one having only shot other rifles that are similar but not the same. 458 Win Mag, 416 Rem and Rigby etc.

I have grown up hunting with a 7x57 using 170gr ammo. I have shot up to kudu with it without issues. Such a low recoiling and minimal meat damage inducing caliber. My dad shot a gigantic Eland Bull at over 200 meters with his during 2021. It dressed out in the high 400kg’s. I’ll attach a photo.

I tend to agree with this 100%. Shoulder mount the sable unless you shoot a giant Kudu bull.
