4 decades of shooting Core Lockts in .243, 308, 7mm rem mag, .338 win mag and .375 H&H. I don’t have a bad word to say, they were my number one choice in commercial non premium ammo. All accurate and knocked game down well, I still have stock of many at home And I’m still using them today.

If it was me and the goal is only plains game, I would come down from the 300 gn and consider a slightly lighter bullet of 250 - 275 gn. As others have suggested a quality bonded bullet is a good choice.

I eventually just moved to keeping a scope on each barrel, expensive but simple to use barrel without the need to rezero.

Sounds like that works for you and they look a lot less cost than my suggestion! I'm a little old fashioned and work on holdover or ballistic reticule. The Leupold looks nice and compact, I see the turret locking buttons on their more expensive range. Great feature.

Does the Leupold have exposed turrets? based on your comments I would look for something that did not have exposed turrets to ensure you are not accidently winding the turrets during horseback or ATV travel. I understand you want to dial it in but maybe a ballistic reticle scope is a good idea...

Another vote for the 9.3 x 62, I like mine.

QD rings may be difficult, Warne I believe are for Ruger dovetails. Www.jackweigand.com makes a nice one piece rail base for your rifle, allowing QD Picatinny or Weaver style rings.
