Using stock pad on double rifles

Ken, what is a silver pad? I am not familiar with the name. Maybe the metal protection some stocks have so the wood is not damaged will resting? I have seen many H&H shot guns form the early days with no pad, just a very nice checkering. Shotguns will certainly shoot many many more times than a...

Using stock pad on double rifles

I love plain stocks with the original checkering. A solution is to use those rubber pads than can be installed and removed as they are press fitted with rubber.

Using stock pad on double rifles

Today, all modern guns will have rear pad in the stock to reduce recoil and make it more comfortable. But from what I see on old catalogues, rifles used to have a pad, but double rifles didn’t. For example I have in front of me the Holland catalogue from 1910, where rifles would have pads, but...

Stock bending, can it be removed?

As far as I know, normally stock will be straight (or neutral), but they can also be bent to the right or the left (think they call is casteroff, casterin??) I always thought that bent or caster, was made directly when carving the stock wood, but yesterday to my surprise, I discover the stock...

Help identifying accessories in H&H original leather case

Thanks for that link. Fortunately, I have a set of chamber cleaning brushes, so I will get the 16bore one and fit it to the gun. I was not aware the gun would originally come with one. The oil can is already in the case, so great. I like the vaseline can..... I may try fo find one or buy it...

Help identifying accessories in H&H original leather case

yes, that is my thought, that it is not an original rod.... It could be metal, but if not marked, it was mostly impossible, as the rest of the accesories are marked. It would make no sense all of them marked, and the cleaning rod was not.

Help identifying accessories in H&H original leather case

Yes, the records will show a best quality leather case, with crown engraved (Marqueese), but nothing about the internal accesories. Not that easy to find accesories in the market, althougt I just bought a H&H flask at ebay UK jajaja. Its always nice to hace a flask after a good...

Help identifying accessories in H&H original leather case

The gun stock is not original, so I dont have problem to cut 2cm, so it can fit the original position. Of course H&H would certainly not make the case or the accesories, but they will all be marked, and the cleaning rod would be strange to be the only accesory with no mark/stamp. Could you...

Bonjour Caldix!! Thanks for your kind words Yes, I already have fully documented the history, after having asked H&H for its history. Yes, the gun has 3 sights, 50-100 and 150 yard (veeeery optimistic?) I was not aware that magnum guns had 3 sights, and non magnum had 2. I dont have the gun...

12 gauge Paradox Gun-Is it Possible to even get supplies to shoot?

Hello all I am new to the forum and was excited to read so much information on Paradox guns. I have a H&H 16 gauge paradox shot gun. It is a secong grade gun, I think that is the previous level to Royal ones. It was originally delivered on 1910 to a Spanish Marquese, and it is in exceptional...
