I have a Browning Short-trac in 7 WSM, and it has no particularly bad habits. Not exactly a reloader’s dream with brass flying etc., but aside from problems with the original camo finish, since replaced by Browning after a class action lawsuit, it’s been a good rifle. I’d buy it again.

This hog made it about 75 yards after a body hit with the 416, but there was a trail that a blind man could probably follow. Only a CNS hit guarantees a DRT reaction, and even that assumes perfect shot placement every time.
I loaded my .416 Weatherby with 300 grain TSX bullets @ 2800 fps. It's a light's out shooter, and the muzzle brake makes precision shooting possible without killing at both ends. I used it for an 80 yard shot on a croc rather than on PG, but the principle is the same.
