Just wanted to acknowledge and give credit where credit is due to the owner of @African Sporting Creations
I’ve been using their shooting sticks for years now and I honestly believe they are the best shooting sticks on the market.
Last weekend I was deer hunting in South Texas this past weekend when someone accidentally slammed the door of a hunting truck in the dark while the legs of my sticks were sticking out. It snapped one leg completely off and cracked another.
I PM’d @African Sporting Creations on here, knowing they are a sponsor. About 15 minutes later, the owner Jim called me directly on my cell phone.
I had already seen on their website that they sell replacement legs and parts, so I figured I would simply purchase the replacement legs and send the sticks back to Jim to have them replaced and set back up.
Jim wouldn’t have it....
He told me to just send the sticks to him and that he would completely repair them and replace whatever was needed....no charge!
His only request was that I send them 2 day shipping so he could get them repaired and back to me as quickly as possible before he leaves for the Dakotas to chase prairie chickens. (I’m jealous.)
That kind of customer service is a breath of fresh air. It’s not often you deal directly with an owner who genuinely stands behind his product and goes out of his way to take care of his customers. Jim was extremely friendly and made the whole thing incredibly easy.
For more than a decade, I used the typical plastic shooting sticks from Bass Pro, Cabela’s, etc. Primos, Bog, and the other brands you see everywhere.
They work, but they break, crack and get loose and wobbly, and eventually get sand and dirt in the mechanisms and start sticking. Most of mine would last maybe two seasons before I was replacing them.
Looking back, I’ve probably spent more money over the years replacing those cheap plastic sticks than what a set of @African Sporting Creations handmade sticks cost me in the first place.
So, if anyone is looking for a set of shooting sticks, I highly recommend giving Jim at @African Sporting Creations a look.
Excellent handmade product, built to last, and an owner who actually stands behind what he sells.
You really can’t ask for much more than that!!
