Winchester I couldn’t pass up!

I was worried about the barrel after cleaning and scoping it. Took it out to range this morning.
It’s a POS!!! Barnes 225 gr stick in chamber,
Nosler 250 partition 3 in group
Swift 210gr Sciracco key holing. Swift 250 Aframes about 2.5 in and key hole.
Barrel is shot.

So it’s now a major project gun.

Scrapping wood stock.
Shilen barrel ordered. New PTG bottom metal ordered. Changing action screws to larger diameter since one seems loose. Bell Carlson stick on the way.

It was either all this or chunk it in scrap pile!

Learned my lesson again about Gunbroker Again!! . If it’s too good to be true. It’s usally junk!

Update.
Well I decided to repair stock, reset pillers and glassbed. Started stripping stock to refinish.
Decopper barrel as it didn’t scope real good.
Found bad spot in last 1 inch didn’t like so cut and crown to 24 in.

Will change scopes and make a trip to Africa after a little work on it.

A very fine weapon! Bear in mind: the Zeiss scope is an excellent one.

It was only a matter of time... @Bob Nelson 35Whelen took you a little longer than usual but, always appreciate the suggestion for a fine .35 caliber
