My first Buffalo taken at Nkomazi Game Reserve in SA. Old. Very old.

That is a wild picture. For the life of me I cannot imagine why he would be broke off and then polished on the one side and then look almost perfect on the other side. crazy cool old bull.

I'm going to cheat a little.

Best with an animal? Probably my gemsbok: he was absolutely everything I was looking for in an old bull. Combine that with a lot of walking and blown stalks, and the rifle and handload... I'll go with this.

For memories? This sunrise photo. It's a reminder of a lot of African sunrises, but also this one specifically because it was the morning I killed my first buffalo, and I was up at 3:30 to watch a livestream of my daughters singing in their HS choir concert.

And this one for who is in it with me. Don Laaks is as fine a PH as you could hope to have, and an even better person. It is a honor to call him friend.

DIY Alaskan spring brown bear hunt. One of the most physically demanding hunts of my life. Might run inline with my sheep hunts which is hard to believe but going solo on that hunt had me about maxed out.

@Tundra Tiger thank you, I decided to book that hunt when I compared the cost to a brown bear hunt and decided I’d rather hunt now than try and outpace hunt prices for a couple more years.

Roger that. And I would think brown bears will always be there, while maybe elephant opportunities might be a little more volatile?

Anyway, kudos. Elephant is on my bucket list.

Do you mind me asking what auction you are referencing? I'm not in the market for any of those rifles...just curious.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
Gents, if you book and pay your deposit before the end of this year , you can have the bigger cull package for the 2026 price! https://www.africahunting.com/threa...griffiths-safaris-starting-at-us-2-560.96285/
