338-06 Brass Needed

Good day, I am looking for properly head stamped 338-06 brass. I know that I can easily make it from 30-06 brass but I am planning on taking me 338-06 to SA next year for my first plains game hunt, therefore the appropriately marked brass is essential. The only available brass that I have found is made by Quality Cartridge but have read mixed reviews on their quality. I have exhausted all of the usuall internet searches and providers and have come up empty handed.

Is there anyone that has any that they would like to sale? OR is there a source where it can be purchased?

Sir, never fear Quality Cartridge brass, I have leaned on it very hard in my 400 Whelen and 400 H&H rifles, in fact both rifles would have never been able to be taken to Africa for Safari without QC brass.

400 grains at 2255 and 2400 fps respectively in both cartridges.

In fact, awhile back I ordered two bags of proper headstamped QC brass for my 7mm Mashburn in case I ever want to hunt it in Africa or maybe even driving through Canada [customs] on the way to Alaska.

A benchrest buddy asked to mic a new bag of the QC 7mm Mashburn brass, he's a precision welder and fiddles with stuff to no end, he put that QC brass inline with Norma and Lapua, very uniform necks and case weights.

If it's good enough for that guy I have no worries, will weigh charges of H-1000 under 168gr LRX's for 3220 fps, zero out and let fly for all plains game animals.

I would burn a couple hundred bucks over at Graf and Sons and be done with it today.
 
I have used QC brass for my 416 T and works just fine. For the trip you are doing it will absolutely work.
 
I appreciate the votes of confidence in the QC brass. I have ordered (40) from Graf & Sons and will load it and give it a try.

I did check the brass and bullets on Gunbroker and it is all resized 30-06 brass.
 
Speaking for a friend, you're just taking a 30-06.
 
I've been down the same road you are going. i found some Nosler and Weatherby online at different auctions. i bought some QC brass not quality but good enough for practice and local hunting. it's quite soft and not well regulated as far as weight, primer pockets and not being concenteric. i do love the 338-06.

Good deal Linkerman, you'll be happy with it, when old benchrest bud of mine got through with his inspection of my QC 7mm Mashburn brass and left, I FL sized all cases, chamfered inside case necks with VLD tool, tumble cleaned the case lube off, popped in fresh FED-215 primers, they're in a big ziplock bag in the bottom of my load bench ready to be loaded waiting on a call from Africa ; ]
 
Hats off to Quality Cartridge! Pete, the owner, is one of the last men standing for hard to get brass.
I got him to order up the stock for the 338-06 brass so he could make 338-06 AI brass for me.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
