Besides the dinner, what part of the convention (SCI or DSC) are you looking forward to?

I will only be at DSC think I am most psyched about potentially meeting people from this site. I am also looking forward to getting sized by Rand Custom Hats. I also hope to meet Chris Sells from Heym, whom I have spent a lot of time on the phone with. Also looking forward to visiting the Rigby booth and checking out the samplings from African Sporting Creations.

Careful, Rand hats can become an obsession!! What style are you looking at??
@Tanks had a post about them years ago. I’ve since bought one every year at SCI.

I already have a Rand Low Safari. I think my next one will be a Fedora type.
 
Going to be my first time attending and looking forward to meeting a few folks from here, but hopefully seeing of the wares on offer (ASC) and talking to a few outfitters about future trips.

Now you've done it. I'm going past Billings and Rand in the next week, so you may just have incurred a good sized bill. Looking at a Snowy River or Drover style, as I haven't been able to find something like that since I left the merry ol' land.
 
February 2025 was my first ever SCI convention, the one thing I really enjoyed was seeing my guide from my very first safari that happened back in 1988. Also, seeing all the guns and goodies the show offers is an experience in itself! I already have my flight and room booked for next years SCI show!
 
I enjoy chatting with Andy Buchanan from TIA. Last year I gave hime a little ribbing about Guav Johnson throwing his boots in the fire and he just smiled and chuckled. He'd be a great videographer to have along on a hunt.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
