Anyone with experience with the 200gr CEB Raptors loaded for 9.3x62? There is no load data that I can find. Has anyone seen reputable load data for this bullet? I emailed CEB and will likely get a response sooner or later, but in the meantime, I’m curious. I have done a lot of reloading for my 9.3 with the 250s, 286s, and 300s and have a sweet load for 250gr that works great with TSX, TTSX and A Frames in the 2550fps range with a slightly hot Varget charge and is very accurate in my CZ 550 and M70. It seems like starting with a min charge for one of the other bullet weights and working up to max monitoring pressure signs could be a place to start? I noticed that the min and max charge for the 250, 286, was the same (based on the Swift manual) and 300 only changed by 1gr. Just making sure I’m not way off base here, but seems like a reasonable starting point? Also, anyone have any field use with this bullet in the 9.3x62? Thanks as always.

Xxlreloading has data for the 215 grain raptor.
they do not make a 215 in the 9.3x62. the 210 with the tip installed made it 215gr but that bullet (I really like) is a special order only and minimum amount is 500 bullets no exceptions (I tried to get 250) no way. Back to the 200 question, I load CFE223 63.5 gr at 2616fps (safe in my rifle) your may not and Varget work great. On their site there under resources you can ask for reloading data and they will get back to you in a day or two.

A similar question was asked here on AH a decade ago. The response is light on actual data but one piece of advice that was given by @Bob Nelson 35Whelen was using 35 Whelen AI loads as a guide due to the similar case capacity & caliber size.

That is interesting, I have used CFE223 with 250s at a similar charge (64gr) with good results. Maybe I will back off of that load a few grains and work up and see how it goes. I have reached out to CEB but haven't heard back yet. Was going to load some up today and shoot this weekend. They do have a seating depth chart in the box so that is helpful, but they say to use any other mftr recommended load for the same weight bullet. I haven't found anything else.

the one thing to keep in mind is that all most load data will be based on the old 48,000 psi loads from 50years ago. when asking Samantha at CEB you need to let her know to run the data for 62,000 PSI since newer rifles and new cases can handle the same pressure as the 270 win etc. that is what makes the 9.3 shine. Michael 458 here and on 24hr campfire has a wealth of info on the 9.3x62. some quick loads for aa2015 51.9, aa2230 55.9 , Benchmart 53.2,Tac 56.9, H335 58.3 these all bases on 49,494 psi so use caution 3.140 oal , and a 26 in barrel and use you discretion, good luck.

If you do not mind please post the load data that Cutting Edge provides. I picked up some of these same bullets recently for a future project.

This is excellent info and exactly what I was looking for. I will take a look at @michael458 info as well. Below is the data I just received from CEB.. looks to be the same QL data run as what Hyde Hunter provided above.

As previously mentioned earlier looks like the lower original PSI was the upper limit on those parameters. New action can get even more performance

From the Speer Web Site ... the 9.3 is a slightly larger case than the 35 Whelen with the 200 FB Tipped Raptor you should be able to achieve at least 2800fps

@zephyr
With a bit of judicious loading you can get the 200gn Hornady spire point sailing along out of the Whelen at a comfortable 3,000fps without straing things. You will know you have pulled the trigger compared to a factor load.

@michael458 highly recommends them in 9.3 caliber. He told me that in his testing, it did better than much heavier conventional bullets in penetration/performance.
Yes, the 200 FB Raptor is the bullet in 9.3 caliber for anything you would do with a medium. I took the 210 ESP to Africa and Australia where it hammered plains game and the terminals were incredible, no bullets recovered, taking multiple zebra, wildebeest and more. However, in my 9.3 B&M it just felt a little off key. I had Dan do a 200 gr Flat Base Raptor, and it really came together perfectly. Terminal performance is no different than the 210 ESP and far more stable.

Toby is correct, the terminal performance of the 210 and 200 FB Raptors were outstanding, and out performed all conventional heavier bullets tested from 250 gr to 286........ there is no comparison.

But, there is a mistake here, I don't have nor have never even fired or seen a 9.3X62 so I can't help any with that, sorry........... However, I am sure you will be able to sort something out with the CEB data above..

Hello,

In my humble opinion, you shouldn’t go below 240 grains—a .93 will always be a heavy bullet, and that’s the appeal of this ammunition: you can boost this caliber for North American and European game to 250 grains with good velocities. I use only Brenneke TOG 247-grain rounds in four different rifles. All my “bad shots”—the ones worth mentioning—significantly slowed the game down and were immediately followed by a second, lethal shot. Ranges from 30 to 250 meters. I’ve run into some crackpots in the mountains who were shooting 140-grain rounds—utter heresy.

Hi Buckums,

I have not used any Raptor 9,3 bullets. But I have and use the slovenian FOX 220 grs monometalic.
My loads are R15 amd RWS cases. Can reach, easely, 2800 f/s in my BRNO ZKK 600 60 cm barrel. The long magazine and the standard long freebore of the cartridge allows an OAL of 87 mm still with a jump to the lands.
Good luck!

Anime Slayer APK is honestly one of the best anime apps I’ve ever used. It’s packed with a massive collection of both popular and underrated titles, and everything streams smoothly without interruptions. I appreciate how well it runs even on mid-range Android devices.

Between Blak Rock and Pocahontas, I did not want to say that on the forum. That's a nice Cat!
