Verney Carron 450-400 3"

So the 0.411" projectiles have the exact same POI and exact same velocity with one grain of powder less when using 2217.

Good. (y)

Thanks.

Next challenge is to find some 2217. Out of stock when I checkedlocally yesterday.

Oh that sucks, it's usually readily available.

I've got X2 1kg containers, so enough for around 350 rounds

Excellent.

.411 Woodleigh softs?

Beautiful double!
Great, all-around caliber.
Seems you’ve found the perfect load for fritters big and small!

I loaded 12 rounds with 400gr Woodleigh RNSN using this load and shot them from sticks using 2 targets (for left and right barrels) at 25m and 50m. But I got excited and only took a photo of the first target (left barrel at 25m). This load regulates better than anything else I've tried - the right barrel doesn't group as well as the left barrel and prints slightly lower and right of the left barrel (2" right and 1" low at 50m). The rifle is 117 years old and I would guess that the right barrel (front trigger) has had a lot more use in that time. I'm not going to shoot any more paper trying to get better regulation out of the old girl - hunting Buffalo in Northern Territory in 4 weeks' time. I've loaded 50 rounds with 400gr Woodleigh RNSN and FMJ - good to go!

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.

Dan who is C. W. Richter? He seems to not be a fan of myself!

Who's this C. W. Richter? Seems to have a chip on his shoulder.
