Frontier Gear of Alaska Pack Frame and Freighter Bag with top frame extension, bottom ledge and 2 gun/rod carriers.

This is the absolute top of the line gear for hauling out heavy loads out of the backcountry. It is sold by Barney’s in Anchorage. What I am offering retails at over $1,000. It is in excellent shape but has been used. The bag is slightly faded and the frame has some cosmetic scratches.

Asking $500 plus shipping.

I have this frame and pack and nothing comes close to it when packing a heavy load. I do believe that is the Moose pack.

Nothing else comes close. When they were adjusting it for me at Barney’s, the salesman had me carrying him around the store with it.

If you get over to Anchorage, you should take the pack to Barney’s and have them adjust it for you.
 
Here’s a pic of my son packing out a brown bear hide and skull. May not look like much in volume, but weight wise that’s a load!

Not strange at all. I felt the same way when I got mine. My son had been using a Mystery Ranch Mule to train for the smoke jumper test. He was training with 50 lbs. I had been rucking with my Barney's pack and it weighed 60 lbs. He put it on and said "its not 60 lbs. more like 40 lbs." He could not beleive it when he stepped on the scale and found out the pack weighed 62 lbs. I had heard similar stories and was excited to test it under weight to find out.
