In case any are wondering or are in need of shooting sticks info, I used the beautiful, sturdy, and well made hickory tripod shooting sticks from Africansportingcreations.com, iirc they offer lengths for under and over 6 feet in height for customers, have used them since 2015 and take on every Safari I go on.
I did slump against a giant Firestone radial tractor tire when shooting the 50 yard box, much like I would a termite mound or any tree not covered in thorns [good luck finding that] or even a trusting and sturdy PH if a longer shot with a double rifle was warranted.
If right handed shooter, you can really load your left leg while leaning forward into the sticks, very sturdy shooting platform.
