The highlights:

14.25" length of pull
Wrap around checkering at the wrist
Jeweled bolt
Checkered bolt knob

All four of those are upgrades above and beyond "Africa" standard configurations.

GWLS

It was my understanding that every item listed in the attached photo are upgrades. Most notable (for me) the upgraded stocks. I'm told the aluminum two gun case was also an option.

All fair points. What is "standard" versus what is an "upgrade" changed many times over the years at Dakota.

I was just drawing the attention to the items that aren't "normal or stereotypical", the things that most Dakotas don't have. GWLS.

Thank You!

This is a beautiful set. Tried buying it in September for my November lion safari but you weren’t ready to sell. Too late for me now. GLWS!

Thanks Scott. It took some time for me to get clarity from ParkWest in value.

No worries. I grew up just minutes away from the Dakota shop. Thought it might be fun to take my lion with one of their rifles but it was not to be. I hope you can sell it here! This set is hard to find.

I have virtually the same identical set! Absolutely love it. With a custom interior in a Pelican suitcase
I put my Heym 470 double and its perfect for travel anywhere in the world! My first Traveler is in
338 Lapua and 416 Rigby which is a good combo also All four calibers shoot Swift A-frames like a
dream! Good luck with the sale, not sure how you could part with it without a trip or two to
Africa with it!

Truly Beautiful guns, Have several Dakotas ive hunted with myself, fantastic. ParkWest Arms pricing/ opinion is notably more expensive than the original Dakota value! GLWS.

That's true. Two reasons: 1.) Inflation. 2.) They've already gone bankrupt once and have been distressed twice, all for selling new guns way too cheap. They aren't doing it again.

Reminds me of Bill Ruger that lost money on every #1 and ruger black label, and John Olin that lost money on every single Model 21. It's a great public service if you're rich, but its no way to sustain a business.

Really nice, always thought the travelers were extremely cool. Great looking set. This plus a Model 10 in 7x57 or something similar would be a perfect little Africa battery in my mind GLWS!

If you look closely at the books of most bespoke rifle, shotgun companies.

Even with ridiculously high prices. It’s not a company you want to own stock in. They most often are upside down and barely solvent.

It almost needs to be a hobby for someone with deep pockets, that likes the brand.or a one man artisan that loves his job. And has less overhead and better margins.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
