    .308 rifle recommendations?

Most would say shoot it and see. I personally dislike that design aspect so much that I would bed it even if it shot well.

    .308 rifle recommendations?

Sakos are beautiful, accurate rifles. I like the short actions for balance - it brings the weight of the barrel closer to the user and seems to make for a pointier rifle. Functionally it doesn't seem to matter. Only two things to be aware of :- 1/ In only some cases, the high angle of ejection...

    .308 rifle recommendations?

The Tikka mags are long enough for 2.810"(?) SAAMI OAL rounds so no more restrictive than many factory 308 mags. Waters Rifleman 308 family mags are a couple of mmm longer than standard, if wanted, and I don't think the extra couple of mm needs the bolt stop changed, but I'm not 100% sure about...

    .308 rifle recommendations?

I'll chime in on the suppressor issue, as someone has already mentioned it. The Tikka T3 muzzle diameter is 16mm, or .630". Kimber muzzles are .560". Much more meat in the Tikka muzzle for threading. To avoid muzzle swelling, the Kimber would need to be cut with a very shallow thread. I'm not a...

    Headed to Scotland Fall 2023

I've been there a few times. Hunted on only one trip. The hunting (roe deer) was good fun and reasonably priced. A bit of research and enquiry should find some options that aren't priced for wealthy sports, wherever they may live. The less trophy oriented places will be more reasonably priced...

Red Deer Hunting In Romania 2023 Season

That is a very solid red stag.

Can we please stop talking about "flat shooting" cartridges

Exactly. But I will probably still read the 13 pointless pages following your wise decision. LOL.

    9.3x62mm vs. .375 H&H Mag

"Predicted" data ? Ahem. "64000 PSI" ? another Ahem. As has been said, equal bbl length, equal pressure, equal SD projectiles, and using the most suitable powder for each is the only valid ballistic comparison, and one which will show the 375 to be ballistically superior. On game performance...

    Veld binocular suggestions

Good to see the love for 8x. Far more versatile than 10x, especially at distances under 300/400 yards. 8x can also be useful with 32mm objectives, whereas 10x32 is not so.

    Transitioning To A Blaser R8 - A Two Months / 500 Rounds Review

Depends what the intended usage is. I am no fan of small bore mags, but remembering that the setup already has a 300mag bbl, I would probably opt for the lighter bullet options of 257, rather than the greater grunt of the 270. If more is wanted than the 257, simply use the 300.

    Transitioning To A Blaser R8 - A Two Months / 500 Rounds Review

It's as close as it gets with factory chamberings in the rifle being discussed - Blaser R8.

    The last pair of binoculars

Thanks for that. Good strategy to avoid having too many model ranges under the one brand. The SLC was always popular so good move to retain it, even if under another brand. That leaves the choice of NL or EL with the Swaro label. Sensible business all round.

    The last pair of binoculars

Got my doubts about the Kahles being a rebranded Swaro. My understanding is that they are made in different countries ? or is it different factories ? Also IIRC the Kahles are/were significantly cheaper than the SLC Swaros. Happy to be educated.

    Transitioning To A Blaser R8 - A Two Months / 500 Rounds Review

I've had a standard weight 300Win barrel threaded without complaint, although the smith was aware that Blaser barrel steel is hard. Since the US doesn't know what metric means, I would suggest caution in selection of the imperial/US thread diameter to ensure that sufficient muzzle wall thickness...
