Have budget, will travel, take what the bush offers, no plans?

One other possibility, Mark, volunteer to work with wildlife professionals in Africa. My wife and I hunt and work on game reserves yearly. Hands on and learn a lot. Awesome stuff. More info if it interests you. Marc

Impala Poop spitting.....will it be in the Olympics?

Thought I'd share a fact about South Africa that I have yet to see an article on. There is a PH at Limcroma (Franco) that made us aware of this up and coming sport. IMPALA POOP SPITTING. It's a real thing...can't remember what they call it in Africans. Anyway.....it is a contest to see...

First South African Safari....A bit overwhelmed

Mike....Marc here. I have hunted ( many lodges) and worked on game reserves in SA for many years, (with my wife). I can highly recommend Limcroma. In fact, I'll be with them again in April. You've got a lot of animals on your list...some living in different habitat types...

Shooting Large Caliber Rifles (.375 H&H and Up) Following Shoulder Replacement Surgery

My wife and I both had total reverse shoulders less than two years ago (I'm 75 yrs.) . Her Dr (different than mine) said go back to normal activities after 9 months-ish. My doctor said, forget sports and shooting...you can not redo your shoulder at this point if you mess it up. I hunted...

    third party flight booking

I agree with booking directly with the airline, hotel, etc. Less expensive overall and get benefits. I've booked 3 flights to South Africa for next year....always direct with airline. I did contact a ticket agent as instructed by Delts for senior citizen discount (10%). Agent wanted 33%...

    Hello from Florida

Howdi. I'm your neighbor....The Villages, Fl. I hunt and work on game reserves with my wife several weeks to months yearly. If I can help in any way, let me know. No matter what or where, the African people, cultures, languages, wildlife, etc. are all amazing.

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

I've find that shooting at "bullseye"targets can be different than shooting at paper targets of animals. Much easier to settle on a circle dot than a spot on an animal where you have to distinguish locations based on angles and body parts. Plus, I try to settle fairly quickly on the sticks...

What do you do when you fill your package early?

I was hunting with a buddy. Each with our own PH's. I filled my list early. My PH said, let's try for a bushbok....May take a few days. 30 minutes !!! 15 inch. Let my PH go home with a nice tip. Walked with my buddy for a couple days. Every one happy.

    AfricanSky vs Afton Safari Lodge

I've stayed at all. City lodge in Airport (elevator from second level parking area) is convenient and decent. No animal trophies to look at, thought. Good breakfast. No transport to other lodge. Intercontinental across street from airport...but more expensive.
