I've find that shooting at "bullseye"targets can be different than shooting at paper targets of animals. Much easier to settle on a circle dot than a spot on an animal where you have to distinguish locations based on angles and body parts. Plus, I try to settle fairly quickly on the sticks...
I was hunting with a buddy. Each with our own PH's. I filled my list early. My PH said, let's try for a bushbok....May take a few days. 30 minutes !!! 15 inch. Let my PH go home with a nice tip. Walked with my buddy for a couple days. Every one happy.
I've stayed at all. City lodge in Airport (elevator from second level parking area) is convenient and decent. No animal trophies to look at, thought. Good breakfast. No transport to other lodge. Intercontinental across street from airport...but more expensive.
Good locations in TV. don't wait to get here. You'll be glad you did if you're active. Hunting seems to be a touchy subject here...lots of gun/shooting stuff though.
I live in The Villages Florida....1 hour north of Orlando. Just wondering if there are any hunters interested in Africa in this area. The Villages (amazing place to live) has a thousand clubs but nothing re.: hunting. Thx.
I fly delta from Atlanta to Joburg several times/year. If first class (delta one) is out, I'd choose comfort plus....middle or right side of plane...bulkhead ! Left side of plane, the aisle from comfort select (not worth the extra money....tried it once) runs into the aisle seat bulkhead in...
City Lodge. Convenient, decent food and accomodations. Works well for being in the airport for pickups or flights in and out. I've stayed other places which are more "African," but for convenience, can't beat City Lodge. Signs in airport direct you to them.
