In North America moose is the favorite in our house. Our farm land whitetails are good too but must not be overcooked- off the grill @ 120-125 degrees internal temp and rest for 5-10 minutes or so. I most enjoyed zebra tenderloin while in Africa.
I feel there is better choices in that price range. Fierce, Cooper and Christensen have built a solid reputation. I have sold several Fierce and Christensen rifles and each customer has been satisfied. My main rifle is a Cooper 52 .300 WM and it has been outstanding.

I agree with swapping scopes if you have a known good one to try. Especially if you have been shooting much from a lead sled, they can be rough on stocks & scopes as there is no outlet for the recoil force. When we shoot from bags we absorb the shock.

Please tell Joan the 24x Tasco 709 target scope went to a good home. I have been looking for a vintage target scope for my pre'64 model 70 target in .243 Win. These scopes are quite scarce and super cool!!
