Warm Weather Socks with Courteney Boots?

If it's hot I use only a liner sock to prevent blisters and the moisture weeking seems to cool the feet.

Warm Weather Socks with Courteney Boots?

Smartwool running socks with polypropylene liner socks- worn together or separately, have been great for me.

For Those That Have Been There?

Yes, I have also hunted S, Africa and Namibia but am looking at hunting Buffalo + and want to try something new. I would like to narrow down my search to a country, then look for outfitters.

For Those That Have Been There?

For those that have hunted in all of Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, which one is your favorite? Let's assume the hunting quality is the same. Which one was most culturally interesting, best geography, nicest people, generally interesting, felt safest, etc? If you were going back, if...

Has anyone hunted Africa in boots like Danner Bull Runs or Red Wings?

These were the types. Look thorn proof and I find anything with waterproof membrane too hot. I figured if you can wear then for work for 10 hours, hunting should be ok too.

    Super Nova

I like the 26. More versatile. For waterfowl just screew an longer extendend choke - looks cool and puts those inches back on with a twist. For turkey and upland, the 26 is better.

    Knives - Why?

My faith is restored- plenty of knife users and lovers out there. I would suggest that a leatherman and a pocket knife would cover almost all Safari needs (as the visiting hunter). However, I might also make the argument that if you are hunting without a personal knife on you, you arnt really...

    Knives - Why?

Simple question - for a guest on safari, is there any reason to bring anything more than pocket knife on a hunting trip to Africa?

The humble 308 Win still a classic Bushveld caliber

Given the quality of hunting bullets, I believe the 308 is now better than the 30-06. Almost identical downrange results with less kick and shorter action. I own both as my two primary hunting rifles. Love both. If I had to choose- 308.

NAMIBIA: Has Anyone Hunted With Jan Oelofse Safaris?

I have hunted there. 2 years ago. Neat country- great game viewing. Food was ok, and some of the fenced areas seemed a bit small. Also, at the time there was no fire in the eve to sit around and chat- lodge life was tolerable but didn't add to the experience. I had fun but wouldn't go back.
