Ruger New African Rifle

I also HATE muzzlebreaks!
Good thing Ruger made it detachable.
We might like or dislike the changes Ruger does to their guns and what they decide to make or not, but at the end they need to make the business decisions they think is good for their company.
I am sure lots of their changes included the muzzlebreaks:vomit: came because a large portion of the market wants it.

Hope they will not do this with the No.1

Just my luck...... I dont have my .416 Alaskan for 8x months and they bring out an African version..... Hahaha

Best regards,

Your right 505..the Ruger RSM was a good rifle. With the grace of God..I have two of them. A 416 Rigby and 375H&H both with leupolds 1.5 -5.

Kind of neat looking to the picture of the new African (beside the muzzle brake that is).
I got mine from the first batch who reached this shores in 2008.
After some touch ups it looks like this:

Seems like Ruger have spyed on me when you look at the new model.

Anyway, my African has become a good hunting rifle with a Pachmayr buttpad, extra cross bolt, barrel band sling stud and some pimping like the ebony blind plugs, ebony forend and an oil finish on the stock.
Latest addition is a bargain I got on the discontinued Zeiss Victory Diavari in 1,5-6x42 with #4 reticle.
Only problem now ist to save enough dough to be able get on the plane to Namibia for just another time...
