On September 3rd. I will fly to the Northern Cape, hunt will be with 4 Aces, Adam Barnard will be my outfitter, for the 3 rd. time.

I will have 7 full hunting days to hunt Aoudad/Barbary Sheep, Sable and Roan.

Then, we´ll see what Africa offers, I hardly have any more space for trophies, so it will have to be small animals, warthog, baboon, jackal, springbok, duiker, steenbok. I already have all of those, but if a really good one is seen........euro mounts, of course.

I will be going with three friends, one of them new to Africa, so we´ll have fun :A Yell:

That is always fun to bring newbies along.
You're working on those specialist trophies now.
Good luck.

Lucky you!! What rifle(s) will you be taking?

Best of luck! Aoudad are awesome critters and fun hunting!

Good luck and shoot straight. Will be watching for a hunt report.

Just curious, have you hunted the Northern Cape at that time of year?

Hi Art, I have a nice Sako in .338WM which would be just great for the job, but... Iberia has discontinued its direct flight to SA, and we are going with Qatar, Madrid- Doha- Joburg-and SAA to Kimberley. Too many chances to lose a rifle, so I will borrow one from Adam Barnard. He has a good selection .

In 2016 I was there in the second half of September. Nice weather, warm at midday, cool in the morning and evenings.

In 2017 it was last week of September in Natal, first week of October in Northern Cape, great weather, we even had some rain, with an incredible thunderstorm on the last day.

Certainly Wayne, it´s always a pleasure to introduce hunters to Africa, one of the guys coming this year took his first African hunt with me in 2017, with a Lion, no less .

Nyati, given your travel plans, I think you made the right decision. Does your outfitter have enough suitable rifles for the three of you? I had bad luck with the "camp" rifles we borrowed even though it was only for a few days. Discretion is always the better part of valor.

No problem Art, he has quite a battery of fine rifles, and his PH´s can also contribute.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
