New Westley Richards 470NE on order, who wants to hear about it?

Wanted to report that we returned to Westley Richards a few weeks ago for stock fitting and once again had a marvelous experience. I was a little less dazed and overwhelmed this time and managed to take some more photos. I thought I would share some in case some of you are interested.....

Trigger, flirting with my wife as usual, LOL. Can't say I blame him, I think she's my greatest trophy.....

Tables with assorted bits and pieces of wonderful WR memorabilia, including actions, barrels, engraving stamps that were used for pamphlets, etc.

The people at WR really are very friendly . I was lucky to be shown around by Simon Clode and Chris Soyza some years ago . And there is nothing like flying over to the UK to watch progress on a double rifle being built just for you . One of life’s real joys .

We discussed options for a rifle case and Trigger showed off a few examples of their spectacular work in various leathers. Some of these images have paper or other objects used to block the names and protect the privacy of the future owners.

Their customer service is superb; this is an experience I heartily recommend to anyone who is interested....

He had this 404 Jeffery in the white and ready for final engraving....... I took the plunge. Again, LOL.

I will have the 470NE double and the 404J bolt rifle, and I figure that's a pretty solid African DG battery. I think I'll stand pat for a while.....

We also visited the Museum of Natural History in London and I took the opportunity to photograph the world famous tusks of the big elephant shot on the slopes of Kilimanjaro in 1898, weighing 207/196 lbs and measuring 10’2” and 10’5” respectively.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
