As new, purchased from Jim a moth ago. I wore them in the house for two weeks and I thought they fit. Found out they don’t after wearing them for a full day outside. They need a new home so I can get a proper size pair at DSC!

Size 9.5
D width
Cleat Sole
$600 shipped w insurance

More than happy to provide more pictures on request.

I’m the worst at buying shoes- I feel your pain! Wish I was a 9.5 I’d get them

Prior to my elephant hunt in Zim last year, my wife and I drove to central Ohio for a face to face fitting with Jim of African Sporting Creations. We left with boots, parts, shirts and so on.

Jim explained why, that after 50 years of the same size shoes, that one's feet often flatten out any require a larger size. I never knew...

Anyway, those going to the SCI or DSC conventions, let Jim know before hand, and I bet he will fit you for your next pair of boots!

Jim went over and above with sending me multiple pairs pre-purchase as I was nervous buying something like this remote! I thought I had it nailed, but I didn’t! Based on our last call, it sounds like I might need a wide.

All my other boots are 10.5 (9.5 UK) but not so much here.

Let’s try $500 plus actual shipping/insurance.

These are 9.5 Euro (10US)

That’s why I am waiting to buy a replacement in person!

Rather than taking a bath on them, if they are close to fitting, have you thought about buying a half gallon of lexol, soaking your socks in it, soaking the boots in it, and taking a 2 mile hike? 90% chance they will be the best fitting boot you've ever owned at the end of that hike.

Well, I already bought another pair, so the money is already spent. ;)

Conditioner would be an interesting approach, but the toe box was where they were too small after a long day. Perhaps lexol would help that, not sure…

An interesting note - I went just a half size up on the new pair and they feel like a totally different boot in the toe. Even with the Sole inserts that Jim sells. My new pair was made in 2019, this pair was made in 2022, perhaps that’s a clue…

They did redesign their toebox rather recently. You may have a different last and different size this time around. I have a slightly narrow M/D width and I like the original toebox very much. Many people do not.

That would make sense. Either way, I ended up with a pair that fit, and I’m looking forward to walking many miles on them.

I agree,, mine were made with a narrower toe box in 1-2020. I love them but it was the last pair Jim had , he went out of his way to send me other pairs as I always like buying 2 of anything I like ,but I couldn't get another newer pair to feel the same

so these are 9.5 UK and 10 D US? Why are they marked in UK sizing? I have pair and they are marked 10 and they fit and they are older boots. Semi interested so clue me in. So these are narrower toe box or wider? thanks

As far as I know, Courteneys have always been in UK sizes. These are a 9.5, and according to their website that translates to a US 10.

This pair is 2022 made and the toe box to me feels completely different than my UK size 10 made in 2019. The older version seems more roomy, I would go as far as to say the older boot feels ‘much bigger’ in the toe box.

If I was comfortable in my older UK size 10, I would not try the newer UK 9.5s. That make sense?
