Good Gun Deals This Week

I have another one for your consideration:
The store called it a "Dumoulin K98 St Hubert Europe in 375H&H" Asking price is 1200 EUR.

I would just get a Swaro Z6i 1-6x24 in claw mounts for it, and it would be perfect.

Love the thin barrel and I believe the wood to be nice too. Not a straight stock, the Germanic influence is there. But still as a working rifle, not a bad option I believe.

What do you think @rookhawk and @Red Leg ? And any others may chime in too of course.

Did you forward my info for the other gun. I have bot heard any.

I have. He’s shown reservation with the export process, but I walked him through how easy it is. I’m not sure where he’s at with that. It also sounds like he’s been quite busy and hasn’t gotten around to taking good pictures.

First thing I would do is get rid of that scope, otherwise an interesting rifle. Will be interesting to see what the experts think!

I just ran across two 375 H&H, and one 458 Win Mag this weekend. One of the 275 was a Win 70 and the other was a Rem 700. The win mag was beat to crap, rusted, and the crown was messed up. The Rem 700 was better, not perfect, but better. The Rem 458 Win mag was at least taken care of, clean, looked like a late 70's or early 80's gun. I was staggered by the asking price for the rifles, they wanted 1995 for each of them. Is that the going price for DG rifles, even in bad condition?

You can get CZ 550 IN VERY GOOD or even NEW IN THE BOX for that price.

Question, would you shell out the money for a 375 H&H made by any company, or would you purchase a 375 Ruger. I understand the love affair for a H&H but the 375 Ruger has the same performance and is a lot cheaper. What is your opinion ?

For the gunsmiths among us:

I see that the safety is one of those sliding buttons on the side of the bolt. Would it be possible to replace this with a 3 position safety on the bolt? I notice a wood cut out in the stock, so that would remain I suppose...

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
