Those darn Sable pictures excited my all over again!!

I'll get to the YIPPY part later on.

I have been in the cruise (calm) mode for some time waiting for the months to pass by, now those darn Sable pictures.

Mid 2012 I booked a NZ Stag/Tahr hunt for May 2014, can't hurry time. Now those darn Sable's.

Then March 2013, a 7 hunting day Buff hunt in Zimbabwe for August 2014. Just could not pass up the opportunity, which is a 3x1 group hunt for $8,000 each all inclusive, any size. Typical hunts go for $13,000-$17,000 for 1x1. Friends hunt together, film each others hunt, and have terrific good time in a tented camp. Those darn Sable's.

December 18th I had right shoulder surgery for the 4th time over many years. It takes a 3 months minimum to heal and feel better with full recovery 10-12 months, so no hurry for anything. I will be able to do the NZ trip. Have a personal trainer lined up to get in shape.

Then April 2014, I extended my Zimbabwe trip back to RSA for Lioness (Male Lion is out of the question for now) and Copper Springbuck (finish my slam).
Many of you have followed the Tootabi article, I had almost booked my Lioness and Copper Spring with Loodt, then "SHIT" hit the fan. Thanks to so many AH Outfitter members and willingness to help me, I added the extra hunt in the NWP. Those darn Sable's.

With all the uncertanties with Lion, Elephant, Rhino CITES etc. etc. I thought it wise to get some of these hunts done.

2015 plans are to return to Namibia for my Leopard, I hunted them in 2012, on trail cam, spoor, eaten baits, and to date, the only hunter not to get his cat. The outfitter made me the deal of, bring a hunter along for duration of next trip and all I pay is the Leopard Trophy Fee. SO, ANY TAKERS OUT THERE?

NOW, the YIPPY part. Those darn Sable's.

My brother informs me he his retiring in 2017 and wants to go to Africa. He is the oldest of 7 kids, 5 boys, 2 girls. I am next in line of the boys. I guess all my trips and trophies finally got to him. I can surely accommodate his request. Soooo, in our planning, I will hunt Those darn Sable's and he PG.

As Bobpuckett puts it, "Enjoy life now-it has an expiration date."

And sometimes that expiration date comes too soon.

I have been very fortunate to live out my dreams operating a full-time successful taxidermy business. Hunting where I may, and a great family.

Things happen to fast. As some of you may remember from past postings, January 2012 my wife was diagnosed with stag 4 breast cancer. I had my Leopard hunt in Namibia for that August. As sick as the wife was at the beginning I had to cancel my hunt. As time went on and with the aggressive cancer treatment she improved tremendously, so well that I was able to do my hunt after all. The Outfitter was able to come up with another tag.

Six weeks ago my mother tripped in the driveway on her way to a Dr. appt. She received such head trauma and brain bleeding she was in a coma. The Neurosurgeon said there was no chance (1%) Mom would survive surgery. With the outcome the same, do nothing and she passes, try surgery she passes at least we tried. MOM did survive, she is our MIRACLE and doing very well in rehab with no side effects. She will enjoy Easter with us.

Our paper has way to many death notices of people in their 50's ,60's.

This is not a sympathy or bragging post, it is a wake up call to all. Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today. I am living retirement now enjoying what God has put on this earth for us.
