Does anyone have any neat ideas of what to do with an animal so ugly its almost cute?
I have seen them done standing with trays like butlers ect...........
Also I have seen bottle openers made with the tusks which would be nice as I could give one to my deerhunting bud
Any other ideas...........................

I like them the most when displayed as a boiled full skull.
Simple, cheap and looks great.
Second best is a full body mount.

Have to agree with Bjorn here. Hard to beat a skull mount for a Warthog. It just looks the way it should.

Tusks on a shield look great.

A friend had to get a shoulder mount for the same "so ugly it's cute" reason. He is also going to get another to create the book end effect.

I could not resolve myself to go beyond tusks an a nice plaque.

Novelty stuff:
Ass mounts

Dioramas. Seen some interesting ones using Crocs.

A warthog euro mount would be a nice conversation piece. The shield idea is also very nice as well.

Warthog is just plain ugly. I'm not seeing the "it's cute" part....ever. LOL! I have friends who have had their's beautifully mounted....but I just don't want anything that ugly in my home. I just requested that the horns be made into bottle openers and I'll give them away as gifts. The best mount for a warthog....is on a dinner plate. They sure are tasty. :cook:

Like the tusks on shield. I had to cover my shoulder mount with a towel for about 6 months until my little girl of then 2 years old got used to it!! She was scared shitless for the ugly thing hanging in my bar!!!

You could always bronze the skull.

I have a full skull and several shields around the house.

I also shot a female and had the tusks made into pendants. Some very original jewelry can be made with them.

One of my old clients/friends had one mounted coming out of a hole in a termite mound which is nice....... don't have a pic of it I'm afraid.

How wide is a tusk? Was wondering if it was practical to have them made into pistol stocks for a ruger blackhawk. Also does anyone know if you get a warthog in SA can you just carry the tusks back with you? Is it practical to have them prepped properly that quickly?

Here is my largest.

Mine is being done as we speak with a smile on his face with the special above the toliet in guest bathroom mount:)

The only thing we forgot to do is have the butt mountes so we could hang it on the opisit wall. Next trip my wife has a warthog with a good butt on her list of trophys to shoot.

They would have to go to a dip and ship taxidermy service at a minimum and then be shipped over to the USA.

Some of the more unusual things to do with a Warthog that I've seen are

Rug mount (with mounted head)

Letter opener handle (tusk)

Gun rack (tusks)

Gun cabinet door handle (tusk)

Alas, the Warthogs haven't cooperated with my wish list. That's hunting.

Guess I'll have to go back. :biggrin2:

All great ideas boys especially the Bronze one...!!!
Warthogs always make great conversational pieces and works great at scaring those naughty kids that dont want to go to sleep.... View attachment 26225

The largest I have is 3,5 cm wide.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
