Top 10 Worst Man Eaters In History

This has been known for a long time - reducing the pressure on wild animals immediately leads to the fact that they lose fear of humans. I remember reading as a child - during the war, wolves began attacking children in peripheral areas, and not in winter, but in summer. Because the hunters were all in the army. And even now, just because of a certain decrease in the number of hunters and increased conservation measures - not only predators, but even moose and male roe deer attack people (you can find videos with such incidents). In traditional societies with a high population density, there are few hunters, and they become an easy victim when an ogre appears. And it's not just the lack of weapons, there is also no main thing - hunting skill.

Jim Corbett shot the Champawatt maneating tigress in May 1907, he received a 275 Rigby as a present from the Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces J. P. Hewlett in 1910. I'm very gratefull to have the opportunity to hold this gun as Corbett called it "Old Faithfull Friend" with my own hands in India in April 2016, what an emotional experience it was! Jim Corbett Forever!

Vashper, are there currently protection regulations for wolves in Russia?
In our country they are protected hysterically.
Measured by the area of the country, there are already more wolves in Germany than in Canada.
About 2,000, mostly in the east of the country.,

my Zimb PH said to me ,man, killed by Lions is not uncommon actually, like car accidents in your country.

Thanks for bringing this thread back to the fore. Very interesting read.
I believe a movie was made (not historically accurate though) about the wolf/hyena in number 5.
The movie was called "Brotherhood of the Wolf" from 2001. It was not halfway bad, but used a lion, imported from Africa, that was badly treated as the source of the issue.

Something like this:

(I really didn't shoot, only ask to make pic).
Shooting at a wolf is mandatory, even if hunting for "hooves". The guys have gloomy faces, because of this episode, the hunt had to be continued for another day or even another week, I don't remember exactly.

Unfortunately, some outrages are also coming to us. For example, recently one guy (district deputy) he was subjected to public obstruction for a video with finishing off a wounded wolf from a snowmobile, which had previously killed and eaten the man's hunting dog. They say, "cruelty".
And what is even more unpleasant, a couple of years ago, animal rights activists pushed through a ban on "hunting behind the fence", under which the tests of the bear huskies also fell. This caused great harm to these breeds, and without huskies, bear hunting is very difficult and quite dangerous. "Getting" a bear wounded in an oat field is a very adrenaline-fueled pleasure. My friend lost his Jagdterrier in this way, and could have lost his scalp.
Moreover, all these laws are lobbied by environmental groups funded from the West, which does not add sympathy for the West among hunters (sorry for politic).

Some of you know of the man eaters of Chirundu. I have tried in vain to get more info on them. I believe once upon a time there was a story published in the hunter and put in a thread on the forum. I would still like to get more info, I have never talked to anyone here in Zim that is aware of the story.

By the way, I think that wolves are still not so dangerous in Germany - there are a lot of wild boars there, the snow in winter is shallow and the survival rate is good, and this is natural food for wolves. I haven't been to Germany often, but a couple of times I saw downed striped piglets on the roadsides.

to be sure some were wounded by locals, but the firearms used most of the time were not for shooting large tigers, and most likely illeagle to own.
