Shooters under attack in Australia

Whilst I deplore the recent shootings at a Jewish festival at Bondi beach and condemn this act of violence against these or any other people's I deplore the NSW government reaction to legal and licenced gun owner as well.
This act was a terrorist attack and the politicians are saying it's not a gun issue but a terrorist issue.
Despite this they are out to tighten gun control even further to law abiding citizens.
This will limit the amount of guns we can own to 4 .
Lever relt, straight pull and some other types will become Cat C making them almost impossible to own. This even includes the blazer R8.

The stupidity of our government has to be heard to be believed.
They are going to outlaw high capacity belt fed rifles and shotguns. We as hunters and shooters have NEVER BEEN ALLOWED to own belt fed weapons but idiot Joe public doesn't know this and applauds the government decision and will feel safer .
This is another knee jerk reaction by our stupid govt to limit gun ownership because of a terrorist attack.

My sympathy and the sympathy of all Australian shooters goes out to the families of those killed and injured in this terrible TERRORIST ATTACK.
I will finish by reiterating what some of our saner political people have said. This WAS NOTa gun problem it was a terror problem.
I just hope our shooters fishers and farmers party can reign in some of this government proposed stupidity.

Now I'm considered a threat to society!!
My mental health has, as a consequence of Post traumatic stress, hounded me for years, it sure has gotten worse in the last 6 days.
The future looks rather bleak, after ruining my physical and mental health, trying help society through my work, I am now no better than a criminal!!!!

Publish a list of the casualties in Russia, Hitler's Germany, China, Cambodia, heck--even Yugoslavia after the people were disarmed. All is not lost yet it still has to get thru Parliament and they are a minority party. Hopefully the shooters,fishers and farmers party will hold the balance of power.
In WA when this was introduced the marijuana patty came to the for and blocked people from having to hand in their guns as they were LEGALLY HELD before their stupid legislation. So the grandfather clause came into effect for us.
Where's the govt going to get the money for they buyback if'n this stupidity goes ahead. It's going to cost them hundreds of millions of dollars that would be better spent in schools, hospitals and housing instead of trying to disarm innocent people.

Hard to believe that I grew up shooting M14’s and L1A1’s. No license required back then.

I never involve myself in political conversations and I only do so now to encourage and potentially embolden my new found AH brethren who find themselves perplexed, compromised, or threatened by current events. The goal of government, any government, is to have its own self interests served; has been throughout time, regardless of the individuals who are serving in government. If you understand the concept of boiled frogs, you understand that the temperature has been steadily rising all over the globe for the past two centuries and has become more intense since the turn of the millennium. I could go on a TLDR rant to support this next statement, but I'll get to the point; what would stop you from cutting in half anyone who would dare take your treasured Ruger No1's? Quoting the last words of Jim Malone, "What are you prepared to do?"

Funny thing about policies that want to restrict the number of firearms owned by an individual; how many times has there been an incident where more than one arm was used by an individual to commit a crime? I can only speak for the US, but all the way back to the Lincoln assassination, the perpetrator could only fire one gun at a time. Is there no public discourse that would enlighten policymakers to this fact? There is, but policymakers are not able to listen to logic; there is a world government long game that prevents this from happening.

Condolences to all those who perished or suffered injuries in that senseless act; and sympathy to you and your fellow countrymen who may now suffer the consequences.

Typical political response, when they can't control those who break the law - over regulate those who obey the law.

It makes as much sense as outlawing forks to prevent obesity.

Hopefully it will not pass Parliament; but, should it pass and you find yourself in need of a rifle for a North American or African hunt - you are welcome to use one of mine.

This is s really sad situation. How do the politicians think that reducing the number of guns that an individual owns can effect the crime rate? That can't make sense even to a liberal politician. No one can carry more than four long guns at a time. Even the gun ignorant cannot see the logic in this, except as a step to outlaw all firearms.

They don't think; thought not required. Which is why smart people are not in politics/government. They use an event to justify a policy. That policy is to disarm.
