The problem is that they are TOO collectible. If I had them I'd be afraid of scratching them so they would just be hidden away, which would do no one any good. Hopefully someone that has a collection will be along to get them.
For the 720 I agree with you, in its condition with all the stuff that comes with it it certainly is a collectors item. Probably would never find a better one for sale. The 725 has been hunted with already, I’m not sure how it’s any different from a 10-25k double rifle. You wouldn’t want to scratch those but yet there are more pictures of those rifles being hunted with on this website than anything else.
I recommend that you contact John Lacy, John is the guy that Remington calls when they have a question. Great guy too! He is in Brenham, Texas. If anyone knows Remington Collectors it is John.
At one point in time I owned a 720. It was a prewar civilian model. I found out that were few rifles made for the civilian market prior to the war. Once I found out just how rare they were, I sold to an "investor" on the US west coast.
Beautifully made rifle. You VERY seldom see either the civilian or the military presentation models for sale.
We are very excited to come to Salzburg for the first time.
Should you at all have any interest in hunting with me and want to discuss different options please do not hesitate to contact me and we can set something up.
