After reading another thread here a few days ago, I have been kicking around the idea of using 300 win mag brass to make a long neck 338 win mag. Basically, take the 300 win, neck it up to 338, and push the shoulder back to where it is on the 338 win. This would let you maintain the capacity and overall length of the 338 win mag but with a longer neck more suitable for longer bullets. Has anyone here tried something like this before, and, if so, how did it work out?
