PETITION: Legalisation of hunting on public land in Queensland

For any Queenslanders on this forum, please consider signing this petition to the QLD state Government proposing the legalisation of hunting on public land.

This would entail access to state forests in a similar model to the NSW R-licence. I am aware that previous attempts have been unsuccessful; however, I am hopeful that the new Minister for Environment may look more favourably on the proposal.

I wish you luck with your petition. Given the feral problems in Qld, and the resultant danger to agriculture and biodiversity, its almost criminal that State Forests are a refuge to any and all pest species. You might want to consider the Victorian model where the State Forests are open to hunting without the need for a booking system and red tape or special hunting permit for pest species. Some of our National Parks are also open to deer hunting, however a Game Licence is needed.
