I want to take my son (15) on a multi day hog hunt next month. He has spring break and we are able to go from March 15-24th; allowing for travel days on the front and back end.

In a perfect world the hunt would consist of both thermal at night and day hunting as well; a 50/50 mix. I am trying to get him a varied experience.

I am open to both private property and to professional outfitters alike. I completely understand there would be costs for the opportunity.

We are very flexible on location a 20 hour drive time from the Minneapolis area would probably be the maximum I would want to spend driving.

Please feel free to reply in public or with a PM if anyone has opportunities or suggestions.

Thank you in advance. John

High Plains Hunts in the TX panhandle has a pretty good reputation. I haven't hunted with them, but have a lease in the same general area. They do yotes and hogs. Most of the hog hunting will be after dark.

If you're on FB, lots of info on the TX Outfitters page. One of the issues with TX is that anyone can call themselves a " guide". So do your homework.

Good Luck!

We seen feral hogs while hunting with @gizmo on his place outside of Turkey Tx. Might be worth giving him a shout. Great food and accommodations.

I’m can recommend Harding ranches outside rock springs. Might be a bit longer drive than you want. I was just there a couple weeks ago. Hunt report at:

I agree with @BnC 04. Give @gizmo a shout. His ranch is about 15hrs from Minneapolis….

Thank you for the responses. I have reserved three nights worth of thermal hunting in southern Georgia for mid March.

I will recap the hunt when we get back. It should be great fun, although a bit of a grind. The outfitter said three nights would be pretty rough and many do not have the fortitude to do it.

Last year I hunted in TX and the second night never got off the ground due to severe weather. Seventeen hours of driving is a long way to go for a two day hunt, which may get cut short.

The kiddo says he can do three nights and I feel I can still manage to get it done as well. Looking forward to it!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
