Flir Scout II

you mean. range, draw ,anchor , aim and release ........... zooooink.:D:D

Man would I like to be there to see that!

I tried to explain to Mike that he needed to have the other end of the arrow cord tied firmly around his waist to make sure you didn't lose that croc, but he was having none of it. :A Thumbs Down:

Used to do a lot of 3D until it caused shoulder problems. I still miss it.

So mine arrived just in the nick of time - I am off buffalo hunting tomorrow. I will let you guys know how it performs out in the veld.

Also keen to see, what critters hang around the camp...

Good luck with the new toy.

@Pro Hunting Safaris hunting
I have run another hunting company where we do thermal and night vision hunts. We have had a lot of thermal units come and go and I've used almost every one on the market. The downside to the scout is the slow refresh rate its 7.5-9hz so if you are scanning quickly the delay between refresh screens, can mean you may miss an animal. The small lens also limits it to 350yds for a man sized target.

I'm not knocking it at all its a nice unit and you are limited geographically to what you can own. I'm sure you will be happy with it. Its fantastic technology and not limited to night use like night vision devices. I use mine for blood tracking as well as watching bullets impact on animals. When you see the hot blood spray on impact, its pretty darn cool.

You are right, the downside to the scout is the slow refresh rate, however, its doing exactly want I need it for at the moment.

@Pro Hunting Safaris, glad its working for you.

I've been running the Tuskir384 for the past couple years and we could spot pigs at 1,000 yds, not clear identification, but spot them. I'm moving to the Armasight Zeus 5 75mm, 60hz refresh rate, bigger lens and upgraded core.

Will have to give it a go some time when I get the opportunity. Thanx for the feedback.
