At some training I won a door-prize: a BOG Deadshot bipod. It seems reasonably well designed and made, other than it was made in China. It is aluminum tubbing that telescopes from 25 to 64 inches in height and has a rubber-like covering on the U that holds the rifle. Any thoughts of this and how it compares to other bipods as well as any performance reviews?

I own this exact model for about 7 months and it has served me well so far. It spreads out really wide if needed, so while you are sitting or kneeling you can change positions quickly, and the large rubber feet grip the ground well. I shot a small mule deer buck off it this last year and did a tremendous amount of glassing using it as support.

That’s what I use for practicing shooting from “sticks”…

All of my tripods are heavy duty with arcs Swiss or heavy duty clamp heads on them…so they don’t work well for sticks practice..

The deadshot isn’t as stable as tripod “sticks” like you’ll see in Africa… but works much the same way and is light and rapid to set up while on a stalk, etc…

I figure if I can reliably make hits at a couple of hundred yards off the deadshot, then making a 200 yard shot off of tripod sticks is a breeze…

I’ve been using a set for all my practice, and have shot 2 deer off of them. Only complaint is that sometimes they will collapse when shooting heavy recoiling rifles, but that has only been when standing on concrete

On a recent mule deer hunt it let me take a 280-yard shot from a kneeling position over a sagebrush ridge, dead steady, no wobble even in a light wind. At the range it’s great for quick zero checks or running drills from multiple positions. The only nitpick is it’s not quite as bombproof on super rocky/uneven terrain as a full tripod (the two legs can rock a tiny bit if you’re not careful with foot placement), but for 95% of hunting scenarios it’s plenty. Lightweight enough that I forget it’s there until I need it.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
