Im a big fan of the 270 I prefer the 270 because it has far more factory support with more available rifles and factory ammo options. The 280 is fantastic and can be loaded with heavier bullets which if using for tougher or larger game I would favor and it shoots very flat with 140s so in theory...
Not a huge 6.5mm bullet fan they are awesome for target shooting no denying the great ballistics but for hunting I would rather have a larger and heavier 7mm or 30 cal bullet. I have more confidence in 160-175 grain .284" diameter bullets than the .264" diameter 120-140 grainers. My favorite of...
And the great and long renowned 416 Rigby is essentially the ballistic twin of the 416 Remington Magnum when loaded to the much lower pressure limits the cartridge is rated for. With hot loads and over pressure loads it can produce greater velocities than the 416 Remington Magnum with the same...
Buffalo can be seriously hard to put down and keep down. Have heard the stories. Sounds like you experienced that first hand. Great bullet and cartridge you placed your shots well but still sometimes the animal has a say in it and that one had a lot to say haha. I believe the 458 Lott with...
Battle of the necked up over 40 caliber full length improved 375 h&h cartridges. The 416 Remington Magnum vs the 458 Lott for Big Game Hunting and for Dangerous Game Hunting. Which cartridge would you prefer and why?

Photo as promised. It is rifle only scope and rings will be removed. This rifle has not been fired I took it out of box and put a scope on it but never got around to sighting it in.
Yes Bell and Carlson make the stocks for winchester for this model rifle it really is a nice setup. And the timney trigger is really nice as well that is in each of them. set on 3 pounds. Metal is stainless steel great hunting rigs mild weight and synthetic stocks with the stainless handle the...
I made a trip over to my FFL today where I have the 2 rifles for sale locally and took a picture of both sides of the 338 Win Mag Rifle. Photos of the 338, The 300 Win Mag looks exactly the same....
I have at my local FFL 2 rifles for sale Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS 300 Win Mag with upgraded Timney trigger like new condition about 20 rounds fired with original box rifle only scope removed
And another just like it Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS 338 Win Mag like new...
The Mossberg trigger is this the Mossberg JM PRO? I have not tried any mossberg triggers but did a google search for mossberg ar15 trigger and that's what came up
For low pull weights and or precision use triggers in the AR platform I prefer a good 2 stage multiple benefits to the 2 stage. My above trigger list the pof usa 4.5 pound is a single stage the others I mentioned are 2 stage.
For a drop in cassett type I like POF USA 4.5 LB CURVED.
LaRue MBT 2S CURVED is my favorite trigger and imo best value for performance I like it better than a Geissele SSA(which is a very nice trigger).
Geissele SSA-E is an excellent trigger for me probably a tie with the Larue MBT 2S CURVED...
^ And that is saying something because with the right bullet selection the 30 calibers are very very good for all around use. Maybe that had something to do with lack of popularity of the 35's for what most folks were hunting the 30 calibers were doing the job for them so they didn't "need"...
358 win should be far more popular than it is so should the 35 whelen and the 358 norma magnum. The 35 calibers never got a fair shake this is the fault of the manufacturers who never properly supported the cartridges as well as the gun writers of the times. I don't own any and its because of...
Another thing when talking hunting application I certainly hope we do not see folks thinking they are able to simply rebarrel a short action to this cartridge most of the actions in circulation were designed and engineered to handle cartridges with operating pressures much lower than 80,000 psi...
My post was applying to both military and hunting use. The crazy pressures it operates at will be harder on anything. Perticuarly for hunting rifles the barrels will wear fast assuming anyone intends to actually use and practice with their rifle. For one hunting barrels are typically a slender...
Not a fan of this cartridge. Talk about being hard on components at 80,000 psi we are talking some very serious heat and pressures on the actions and barrels. I will believe the guns will last if they can prove it which I doubt. The whole design is stupid as hell and ridiculously costly. Gonna...
You were likewise excellent to do business with enjoy the scope. Anyone thinking of doing business with Mark A Ouellette he is great to do business with.
One thing I would add is a 257 roberts is a nice cartridge but not a true short action where a 25 CREEDMOOR would likely be ideal for a short action quarter bore caliber so I could see that coming into existence and making a great hunting round for short actions. If any new 25 caliber cartridges...
The manufacturers just need to change their specified twist rates to a faster one in guns chambered in the 25-06 its a great case and would do well for these new long high bc bullets with it's specs for coal length and long neck with the case capacity it has it will push the bullets out at good...
Hey sorry everyone yes I got it liked it enough to get a second as well. Here is what I can say so far I have only fired one of them. The triggers felt the same between the two and are very nice by my standards the measured pull on the one that was also fired was just over 3 pounds from the...
Barrel twist rate, tight chamber specs and the very high bc bullets responsible for the accuracy and long range ballistics that the Creedmoor design claims all the credit for while it actually has nothing to do with them is annoying to many. It also seems to have been a major influence on the...
Fantastic cartridge design for the right scenarios but it has no magical properties and is not well suited for many of the applications it is currently being used for and that plus all the exaggerated performance claims which I like to call salesman bullsh*t are what has caused the pushback...
