I have been thinking about booking a boar hunt in Europe. I am interested in a high seat hunt not driven. Where would I go for the largest boars and with whom?
Thanks
Leaving Nashville this morning after 2 days at the show. A fantastic show! They need a bigger facility, you will not be able to move today and tomorrow!
Spent a long time with Pierre Guerinni and Arnaud with Ganam Safaris. They are opening up and area in CAR in a joint venture with African...
Dogcat1 is absolutely correct about forest buffalo. I shot 1 in 61 days in the forest. Put dogs on them many times but they never stood and fought the dogs. The one I shot, we were tracking bongo and entered an area with waist high lush vegetation and up stood 5 or 6 buffalo all around us. The...
I have taken 6 buffalo with my 500 A2. About 50% of the broadside shoulder shot pass completely through. The ones that I have recovered are picture perfect! Heading to the BVC in July for a double non trophy buff hunt
My ph and I hunted buffs 3 months after his knee replacement. He walked alot of miles.
Most of my friends with knee replacements, I guess 6 or so, were walking long distance 6 months after the surgery.
Everyone is different
I was there on 3 different hunts over 20 years ago, I did not hunt elephant but had many many encounters.
I have a friend, Vaughan Fulton, that does a couple of hunts a year now for Mayo and says the area is fantastic
Just thinking about what I am going to do in 27, curious if anyone had done a houseboat based hunt on Lake Kariba. Any information on what is available would be greatly appreciated
I am needing to buy a press for my reloader to start reloading for my 500 A2. What is the opinions on this Lee press? It seems like I read where the newer version had some change that people did not like
Thanks
I use a BRNO 602 500 A2, 570 grn Barnes X. I have a steel picatinny rail on top, this year used a Burris 6500 1.25x8 scope mounted in Burris Tactical Rings.
Just returned from the Save and took a tremendous old bull. 1 shot through the shoulder went 6 steps. The scope has handled the recoil...
As I have said many times, I am more at home in the forest than anywhere in Africa. I have been blessed and spent a total of 61 days in the forest with more than half just me and the pygmies.
I have been told by many people that they feel claustrophobic in the forest. Many times each day if I...
The forest is unbelievable. I feel more at home there than anyplace in Africa. However, it is not for everyone. I have heard several hunters say they felt claustrophobic.
To be comfortable you must be outfitted correctly and be prepared
Yea all Delta flights Atl to Joburg are Flight 200. We are sitting Comfort + row 30 D,E bulkhead. Sat the exact seats last Sept, I think the best for the price on the plane
I have never had to re-check rifles in Atlanta. Rifle case checked in at airport in Baton Rouge or New Orleans and the next time I see it Bruce with Gracy Travel has it at Tambo.
DSC moved the dates to Feb, close to SCI and gave discounts to exhibitors. This may possibly increase participation. I attended DSC in Atlanta last year and the venue was not terrible. I am thinking about going again next year.
Gracy can do everything you need. If you sent them your gun info I am sure they will be getting your gun permit and there is no one better than Bruce at Tambo
There is a thread started recently on problems on Ethiopian getting guns checked in Addis.
I will be flying on Delta, June 26, to Joburg then next morning to Bulawayo. I have taken this route numerous times. I stay at City Lodge, so simple. Gracy travel handles all of my needs, from tickets...
