    Wild Lion Hunt

Lots of pertinent information on here regarding lion hunting chaps. Dalt and York are doing a good job in their areas for sure. Good on them. With any hunt, be sure to do your due diligence, especially with a high dollar item like a lion hunt. There is never a dull moment hunting lion, that I...

Having problems feeding a model 70 .416 Rem Mag

Many thanks for this - you hit in on the nail - 'different radius at the bend and can be taller when fully compressed' Interesting it is a factory gun, so surprised at that. As far as I can see it's a case of just replacing the magazine spring

Hello guys I am having trouble getting a third cartridge into the magazine of a model 70 .416 Rem Mag Safari Express. We can put two down but it seems the magazine box almost seems too small for the third shell, but I've never had this problem with a model 70 before. Any one else encountering...

Has Anyone Here Ever Hunted Lake Cahora Bassa?

Mozambique really has to be one of the best destinations for large lizards! I shot these 2 crocs pictured below with a fine gentleman in Cabora last year. The density of crocs in that place, and along the Zambezi is scary! Niassa also produces the odd 'proper flat dog' too!

    Suppressors in Africa

Be VERY careful flying to Africa with suppressors guys. Some African govts. will take a dim view of them. My advice would be steer clear of them or ask your outfitter as to the legality of their use in your destination country. I think South Africa is okay with them. North of the border, not so...

Has Anyone Here Ever Hunted Lake Cahora Bassa?

Cabora is a great place for a croc hunt. Be warned though, there might not be much else to hunt (depending on your concession obviously) and you will see plenty of fishermen. Who are you hunting through? 14-15ft is attainable.16ft are not common and if you get one consider yourself very very...

Who are you hunting with in Niassa (the province or the Reserve proper)? The Niassa Wildebeest is a beauty - it knocks the socks off any other Wildebeest. Learner Professional Hunter fund

Whenever an 'appie' here in Zim asks me calibre recommendations I always suggest a heavy in the .400 calibre. The CZ550 in .416 Rigby or .458 Win Mag (get it 'Lotted') is a far better choice for a learner to start out with. I agree most start off with the venerable .375 but they nearly always...

As much as I love the venerable .30-06, I reckon they're on the light side for eland. In fact in Zim, its not even legal to use the .30-06 on eland (or giraffe and lion for that matter). Its a big animal, use enough gun. The .375 is just perfect! With a good A frame or Bear claw, you're good to...
