Mauser 98 500 Jeffery Info needed

Thanks for the pictures, much appreciated. This would be the 4th different arrangement I have seen for 500 j. The flat follower and internal single stack box are unique. Are the cartridges feed into the magazine straight down like a standard 98 or are they inserted ford of the thumb cut and slid...

Mauser 98 500 Jeffery Info needed

Thanks for the reply. I would really like to see a picture of your rifle, feed lips and depth of mag. Are the magazine lips similar to the wesly richards clips. Is the floor plate the standard 98 bottom metal.

Nice, I don't mind a bit of low layer count Damascus. Useful size with good handle lay out. Full tang is always a plus. I like it.

It looks like they used a stagger magazine to get the 3 down as the belly of the rifle looks standard depth to me. Also handy info. (y)

Mauser 98 500 Jeffery Info needed

I will have the barrel chambered and fitted by a gunsmith. I will do the rest myself. I have searched the web for info and pictures, which there is not many. The video Von Gruff has put up is one I have watched many times. I have the math theory for the mag stagger, the 30 degree (0,866)...

Things of interest are barrel profiles, number of cartridges in a single stack mag 2 or 3, floor plate configuration, Rifle weight. Pictures of feed ramp and the rear bridge - has the...

    LEE ENFIELD LE 1 375-303

I have been working of the the data in the woodliegh manual pictured above for the 375 x 2 1/2 inch, very similar I think. Yes mate I can close the bolt on 10 in the magazine, it did require a bit of modification to magazine to get this to happen. If I can work it out how to put a video up of...

    LEE ENFIELD LE 1 375-303

The barrel is a 24 inch loather walter. The cross bolt is a talley, not as traditional as the brass pin, but I like the look of these. I was going to put a front one in as well, it would be a tight fit but it could be done. I think it would look very impressive. I would never do it to a lee...

I really like using open sight, always have. I am 45 and starting to notice the rear sight is not quite as clear or sharp as it was in my youth. It is not effecting my shooting as yet but when the time comes I will put the peep/aperture sight to good use. As Von Gruff has. I believe the...

    35 whelen

Right you are sestoppelman, I have written on that target incorrectly years ago. It should read 57 not 67 as it would be impossible to seat a projectile. I will ask the mods to take it down as I don't know how to.

    35 whelen

My interest started with the 358 winchester as a teenager.
