Are the two types of ammunition similar? Are you shooting them both out of your 458 Lott rifle? If shooting different bullet weights or from different rifles could be the reason for the felt recoil difference.
I've hunted Namibia & South Africa seven times. At this time, I no longer have a desire to hunt the game farms any longer. I hunted wild Mozambique once for plains game. A great hunt with animals as numerous as the game farms.
I'm now starting to plan for a non-trophy elephant and buffalo...
Personally I've had no issues with TSA agents. Definitely no theft from them.
They are able to open non-TSA locks as well as TSA locks. I know this because two days ago I returned from Africa. My rifle case has two TSA locks as well as two non-TSA locks. Upon arriving at home I found one of...
Harbor Freight has Apache cases that are well made, reasonably priced and lighter than the Pelican cases. I've used mine on three hunts and another one next month. No issues.
Hello, I ended up going with Possum Hollow for the bore guide. They will not be able to install an o-ring but will have a deep enough throat that it shouldn't be a problem. PMA was very responsive and honest. Please see their response to me below.
Thank you for your interest in PMA Tool.

I'm trying to find a bore guide for my Winchester 458 WM and can't find any larger than a 416. Do any of you good people know where I can purchase one. Thanks for any and all help.
I recall seeing a video a few years ago where the PH and hunters used black umbrella held in front of them to advance on a herd of buffalo in Mozambique. It worked great. They were able to get within shooting range in fairly open country.
Only one hunt booked. I have to work January - May. South Africa lion and plains game with Umlilo in June. Then ankle replacement surgery in July. That's going to keep me out of the field for 9-12 months.
Dang that really sucks. I hope they find your crate soon and get it to you.
Hoping I have better luck with my 2024 Mozambique trophies. They just left the outfitter last week.
Flying out of the Tete, Mozambique airport this year, the security staff found a Leatherman tool in my carry on that I had carelessly forgot about. They asked me if it had a knife blade. I told them that it did have one
I exited them to confiscate it at the very least. Instead they gave it...
I learned one thing about the nickel cases. You can't wet tumble them with stainless pins for too long. I did it for three hours and most of the nickel cases showed a lot of the nickel flaking off. I've cut it back to 90 minutes and haven't had any more problems.
Chase, no quote yet. Probably not for a couple more months. The outfitter waits until the end of the season before shipping them out. Like Warren said, the charge will be dependent on the total shipment of everyone's trophies on the truck. I can live with Warren's $990.
WOW, that is a high price to pay to get your animals to S.A. I hunted Mozambique this year. Sure don't want to pay that price.
What are the two different bills from Emiac for?
Great trip in a beautiful area and wonderful people. A lot more plains game animals than expected and very good quality. Seeing the dangerous game was a big bonus. You and your family are going to have a great time.
Ate Reedbuck for the first time this year. DELICIOUS! It was my first night in camp and I complimented whoever of the four hunters that had shot it. Of course, one guy said that it was his. My partner replied, "that explains the small portion".
As someone who just took a long route through Europe on Atlantic Air in Upper Class, I say no. The service was great but the extra time was not worth it.
Next time I'll be flying Delta again. Even if it means I'm in Premium Economy instead of Business Class
