I bought a M70 Classic Super Express 375 HH . It's a 1998 New Haven built rifle I got from Gun Broker. I would have preferred a M70 with a barrel band front sling mount instead of the Classics soldered on mount. Other than that I love it.

My F250SD 7.3 4X4. I have owned it since new in 2000. It's rough appearance wise but mechanically very good. I use it to run around in the desert here in AZ. It's been pretty low maintenance. A couple of water pumps and sensors is about all except for regular maintenance items.

I sold my 338 WM Browning Safari in 1989 iirc. Wish I had kept it. It was very close to 100% and a sub MOA shooter. But, I sort of replaced it recently with a 1998 M70 Classic Super Express in 375 H&H.

My inexpensive Mossberg 7 PRC likes Barnes 160 LRX factory loads. .5 groups@100yds from it with less than 20 rds through it. I am hoping it does better as more rounds go down the barrel. And it's in the really cheap pos plastic stock. Which will be changed asap.

No, I do not. I have a Gentry brake for it but have not tried it yet. I am hopeful I can shoot it without training wheels though.

The lack of iron sights would nix it for me. I guess it depends on your intended use to some extent. FWIW, I have a 1998 M70 Classic Super Express in 375 H&H that was threaded when I bought it recently. Does not concern me at all. But, then again, it's not a Pre64 either.

Evidently the new production M70's, Portugal, have an issue with the firing pin springs. And the later New Haven M70s had issues with bad extractors. As far as your 03A3 spring goes, it was probably made with superior material back during WWII. Anyway, Ontario Hunter, I can never leave...
